Mathilde Requier
Mathilde Requier is a senior at Newport Harbor High school and Co-Editor-in-Chief for the Beacon, where she is motivated by her belief that journalism is important because it gives a voice to those who tend to be overlooked by others. Though Mathilde was born in France, she spent most of her life in Florida before moving to California before her junior year. When she isn’t busy with The Beacon or the IB Diploma Program she enjoys reading, painting, cooking and volunteering at the soup kitchen. After high school, Mathilde would like to attend a liberal arts school and major in international affairs or anthropology. She has traveled a lot, and some of her favorite places are the Alps and Baja California; she is not picky with food and likes to try delicacies wherever she goes.
