Katie Shannon is a senior at Newport Harbor High School and the Social Media Manager for the Beacon.  She also serves as the senior captain of Newport Harbor’s cross country team as well as the Head Special Projects Manager for TarTV, the student-run video production program. Katie loves movies, cooking, playing guitar and ukulele and enjoys the beach and Disneyland. After high school, Katie plans on pursuing a degree in film production and working within the film industry and different media companies to kickstart her career. With her mother being from Germany and her father from Ireland, Katie is incredibly proud to be a first-generation American.
