Freshman Joey DiCarlo has enjoyed his first season playing basketball for Newport Harbor.

Freshman Joey DiCarlo plays on Newport Harbor’s basketball team; he is a hard-working student who is also a great athlete and a very easy person to work with. There is a common stereotype or trope that students who are heavily focused on sports are not as academically successful as those who are not, but DiCarlo is someone who heavily disproves that. DiCarlo spoke with the Beacon’s Matthew Taur about his playing career.
