Long Beach Pumpkin Pie

By: Grace Headding
The Long Beach pumpkin pie recipe came from an old neighbor of mine. It has become one of my favorite recipes and my mom has been making it for over twelve years now! I look forward to eating it every Thanksgiving. Here it is:
Ingredients:
● Crust
○ 2 cups of graham crackers
○ ½ cup of melted butter
○ ¼ cup of sugar
● Filling
○ 1 can of pureed pumpkin
○ 2 eggs
○ 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
○ ½ teaspoon vanilla
○ ½ teaspoon salt
○ ½ teaspoon nutmeg
○ ½ teaspoon ginger
○ 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
● Crust
○ Place graham crackers in a plastic bag and seal, then crush graham crackers
into fine crumbs using a rolling pin. Place crumbs into a bowl and add the melted
butter and sugar and mix. Sprinkle crumb mixture into a pie pan and mold the
mixture to the pan.
Heat oven to 400° F and bake the crust for 15 minutes
● Filling:
○ Place all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix until smooth. Pour the filling into
the pie crust.
Lower oven to 350°F and bake for 35 more minutes.
Enjoy and I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving!
