Winter Formal is right around the corner! Newport Habor’s 2018 Winter Formal dance will be at Knotts Berry Farm on February 2, 2018. This year the theme is Napoleon Dynamite, so be sure to bring your 80s spirit! ASB went through countless themes for this special dance and finally agreed on Napoleon Dynamite when senior Dane Newton brought it up. When asked about the theme he said, “I am truly in love with Napoleon Dynamite and I’ve watched the movie about a billion times and freaking love it so much and I thought it would be really cool to have as our theme because I’ve never seen it done before.” Dane also hosted our school’s pep rally and even performed the iconic dance from the movie. He also explained how nervous he was to host the rally “because [he] didn’t know how people would react or if they’d even like it at all but most people really loved it”

The dance is on Friday the second from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. There will be treats, rides, fun, a photo booth and so much more! You do not want to miss out on this amazing high school experience. Please make sure to fill out a permission slip to make sure you can go to the dance. So, it’s time to ask that special someone and have a good time!! Tickets are $65 with an ASB card, $70 dollars without and $70 the week after with an ASB card and $75 dollars without. As for couples, next week will be $120 for couples with ASB cards, $135 with one ASB card, and $140 with two ID cards. The following week will be priced at $140, $145, and $150 for couples. Also, remember to have a great time and stay sober sailors!
