Welcome to FCA! FCA stands for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Each month at lunch we have an athlete or pastor come and speak about their life experiences in the big gym. We offer free pizza to everyone after the meeting, so don’t miss out! Remember, you don’t have to be a Christian or an athlete to attend, we’re just glad you’re there. Our last speaker was Matt Meggers, a baseball pitcher from San Diego Christian. He came to tell us that God has a plan for your life. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” The story of Job is about a man whose faith was challenged by the Devil. Job losses every earthly possession he has, even his family, but not once does he lose faith in God. Instead, Jod decides to remain in God, and praises the Lord for what he has. He knew that God still had a plan and a future for him. For remaining faithful to the Lord, Job was blessed with double everything him once had; he had twice the amount of livestock, and was blessed with a family of seven kids. This is what we should strive to be like as followers of Christ. Be thankful and hopeful and know that God has a plan for you to prosper, even if it may not seem like it at the time. God never gives us more than we can handle. Instead, the trials we face are to better our future. Don’t rely on any worldly solution to your struggles, but rely on God and know that you will be blessed. From everyone at FCA, have a happy Thanksgiving and remember to thank a loved one!
