Though the school year has just begun the highly anticipated Battle of The Bay games have already started for the students of Newport Harbor High School. Although not all sports have had rivalry games against the Corona Del Mar Sea Kings, Girls’ Volleyball, Girls’ Tennis, Boys’ Football and Boys’ Water polo will go head to head with CDM next Saturday, October 3^rd. At each of the BOTB games, all of the students of Newport Harbor High were extremely enthusiastic and expressed their Sailor pride. ASB, Dance Team, the Pep Squad, and Band put on a spectacular show at the Thursday morning BOTB pep rally. During the game at OCC, many students, friends, and families attended in support of our Newport Harbor Football Team. Band as usual played their upbeat music to their best ability, adding to the crowd’s excitement. While the entire Pep Squad including song, cheer, and baton all entertained the crowd with their dances and chants with their lovely smiling faces. Even Tommy Tar and Sally the Sailor, our school mascots were there, encouraging the audience along with the other teams. Even though we lost to the Sea Kings this year, next year…. Just wait because the Sailors will set sail again and will not fail. Sea Kings move over because the throne will be ours!
